Packaging Refresh

In 2020, Polaroid launched a major rebranding to refresh its entire product line with a clean, modern identity. As part of this initiative, I supported the Polaroid 3D team in updating packaging for the Universal Filament and Polaroid Ink ranges, ensuring a cohesive and cost-effective brand presentation.

The rebranding posed a challenge—how to maintain high-quality packaging while managing production costs and meeting market demands. We created a practical design solution for the Universal Filament boxes using Adobe Illustrator. The packaging was divided into two parts: a generic box design complemented by sticker labels to distinguish filament colours. This approach offered flexibility, reducing printing costs and allowing us to adjust stock based on demand.

For the Polaroid Ink range, I developed Inject Facing Cards in Adobe InDesign. Using parent pages, I assigned unique colours to represent different printer brands, ensuring clarity and visual consistency. These cards were printed and packed in-house, aligning with the brand's new look while keeping production efficient.

The result was sleek, adaptable packaging that reinforced Polaroid's updated brand identity while meeting operational and budget requirements.
